Mentoring and Graduation
Graduates from UE's School of 教育 leave the program, which can be completed in four years, with the skills they need to succeed as teachers - so much so that, 再一次, 100 percent of last year's UE School of 教育 graduates who pursued employment in the field of education were working in the field or enrolled in graduate school.
Because of their educational foundation and supportive relationships with faculty, our graduates are achieving personal and professional success. 再一次, 100 percent of last year's UE School of 教育 graduates who pursued employment in the field of education were working in the field or enrolled in graduate school. Many of our graduates choose to work in inner-city schools, as they have the confidence and skill to do so. 通过毕业, all education students have had experience in Title I schools; many have had as many as 4 to 5 different school/community experiences. Our graduates also report they are working - and flourishing - in a highly diverse student and teacher population.
Graduates of the University of Evansville School of 教育 are known for their skills and knowledge as well as for their compelling attitudes and dedication to the children of this nation. Indeed, many School of 教育 graduates have employment offers prior to graduation. There are several key reasons for this. 第一个, our students participate in a wide variety of meaningful experiences in schools and school communities, working closely with teachers, 家庭, and administrators. These experiences allow our students to build the skill sets needed to grow into caring and effective educators while benefiting from established support systems as they learn.
第二个, our graduates have many opportunities to practice cultural competency through curricular and co-curricular programs. Our graduates understand and value the many differences found in today's schools. Also a key to our student's success is the support of not only the faculty but also the Center for Career Development where support services and resources are available throughout the student's academic career and beyond graduation. This includes access to a wide-spanning network of alumni.
The School of 教育 has developed a mentoring program for our graduates in their 1st through 3rd years of teaching. The aim of this program called 焦点 (Fostering Ongoing Collegiality, Understanding, and Support) is to support our alumni through ongoing virtual meetings. This benefits our alumni from the Teacher 教育 program in a manageable and meaningful manner.
